Ursula Connolly
Ursula Connolly is a singer/songwriter who is currently performing in Ireland and the rest of Europe.
She recently returned to the world of Jazz her first love having spent many years performing as a singer songwriter.

Ursula began her professional career with The Fallen Angels an all female a-capella group, who were very successful both in Ireland and Europe.
When the band split up in 2000 Ursula released  her first solo album entitled "Picture of Myself." She is currently working on a follow up to that.

Described by the Irish times as 'A voice that is a balm to the listeners soul' this is not surprising when you know that Ursula comes from a family of beautiful singers and started her music career with her sister's Inez and Rita Connolly (Well known international chanteuse, of Granuaille and the Deer's Cry fame) who were collectively known as the Connolly Sisters and played many gigs in venues such as The Universal folk club, The Baggot Inn and The Coffee Kitchen.

This song called 'Let Your Heart Be Strong This Christmas' is also the work of another talented member of Ursula's family.
It has been written and produced by her brother Peter Connolly, a well known bass player and musician.

Let Your Heart Be Strong This Christmas: - The song is written from the perspective of a mother whose son has had to join the military and go to war.
She has watched her child, who once played games of war in the garden, grow into a man who is now compelled to fight for his country.

While she rationally understands the need to fight for what is right she longs only for peace and that war was never any more than a children's game.
She reaches out to him with a message, "let your heart be strong this Christmas, strong enough to stand and fight the fear that takes us all" and of course any mothers hope that he will, "live to carry on".
